    Can anyone help to identify this item? We found it in the mud.
    It is metal about 6 inches long and 4 inches or so wide. It's pretty sturdy. It appears to be some type of tool maybe?

    A lot is being excavated next to us for new construction. We also found this Bixby Glass Ink bottle in the same area circa 1880-1900.

    Any help is appreciated.
