This chest was found in Indiana Amish country around Shipshewana. Only 28 inches long 13 inches wide 13 inches tall, has great push button lock.
Could it be a salesman sample?

I would tend to question it being a salesman's sample. It is built with butt joints and from what I can see the hinges are not gained in. I would sooner think it might be something a father might have built for his daughter. It is a very nice looking piece but I don't see a sales quality to it. The joinery and hardware don't look right.
