Hazel Atlas green jar with metal lids--purpose?

I acquired these marked Hazel Atlas green depresssion glass jars w lids. The glass jar measures 3 3/8 in. wide and 2 1/4" tall. The metal lids are 3 1/2" diameter. The bottom of the jar is marked HA and the lids are marked HA. What was the purpose of these ? Name? Any help is appreciated. I looked thru 4,000 eBay Hazel Atlas listings and did not see similar!! Thanks!!
