      this is a lid to a covered jar I have 2. they were made in 1980's. mass marketed poduct . used on bathroom counters for cotton balls and the like. Marking on bottom of jar "Made in china" jar bottom is 6 inch high and the width of top and bottom of the jar is same as the lid and the print from the lid is on the jar sides.

      thanks Marie...2 bad I thought I had an heirloom...NOT! LOL!
      I think I will keep it anyway...never know when you might need a lid!
