    I have looked far and wide and can't find another rocker that looks like this. Would anyone have information on the type? age? manufacturer? I bought it in upstate NY. Thanks for any help!

      This is called a carpet rocker or a carpet rocking chair. Not sure about the age of yours, but it has natural bamboo turnings with very pretty patina. Looks like a very nice piece. Here is a similar piece for your research:
