The Continental League was a proposed third major league for baseball in the U.S. and Canada, announced in 1959 and scheduled to begin play in the 1961 season. The league disbanded in August 1960 without playing a single game. - Both Hodges and Furillo were playing for the LA Dodgers during this period, in fact were team mates in the 1959 World Series against the Chicago White Sox; (Furillo was released by the Dodgers in May 1960 due to an injury)

Personally, I would have no idea - I wasn't even born yet :)
