Great Grandmother's Rocking Chair

this rocking chair belong to my great grandmother. She was a very short woman and all her chairs were very low to the ground, if they didn't come that way my great grandfather made them lower. This chair however had no need for alteration which is great because it's perfect for my short legs (guess where those came from!?) it has been reupholstered, and is in the process of being reupholstered as it recently survived a fire and has some smoke damage.

My mother tells me it has been at her grandmother's house for as long as she can remember, which means it has been around since at least the early 60's. It was possibly purchased in PA or NC as my great grandparents moved around they can't pin down an exact location. That's really all I know. My family is by no means wealthy so I know it's nothing special, but I would like to know more about it. I haven't seen too many rockers like it and it would be interesting to hear more about it. If anyone has any information, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
