Wondering if anyone knows the manufacturer of this trunk.
The hardware is stamped that there was a patent dated 1880.
The only thing I can think of is if someone recognizes the artwork
that this trunk has inside the lid.

I appreciate any information I can get !! Thanks!

Without a makers label or tag (which yours does not have) it is next to impossible to know who made this trunk. I can tell you that your trunk was sold as a "Fancy crystal metal covered trunk" or many other descriptions similar to that. Many people refer to this as a Monitor top trunk, but it was more commonly called "xxx covered with rounded corners" Your trunk is 100% American made around 1890 - 1900. The lock was patented by L Hillebrand in 1887 . The interior pictures (lithograph), interior trim, exterior metal, trim, slats, handles, etc were all sold by trunk parts suppliers to most if not all trunk makers. The trunk looks quite nice and appears to be in good, solid shape. It should be fun as-is or if you plan to work on it.
