I bought this jar today at an estate sale in the Seattle, WA area. I am unsure of the age; however it is in great shape. It not only has the jar but the lid with the paper label. It is ceramic, from Hong Kong distributed by Sam Shing Wo. I noticed there is another site on Collectors Weekly that has 3 different ginger jars, LuluX.

I welcome infomation from anyone regarding the sweet jar.

This one is really nice, I really like the lid design. I have not found any information about this online, been at it for a while. Have you checked if the jar have any hallmarks, that would help date it. Any engravings/hallmarks would be most likely be underneath the jar, if you didn't already know. if it has a hallmark I´d love to see it and help date it. Either way, its a really beautiful jar, nice find.

Thank you BinaryReflex. Sadly no marks whatsoever on the bottom or anywhere. The only clue would be the label, and I have not been able to find any information on Sam Shing Wo of Hong Kong. He must have exported the product, will have to keep looking!
