Colonial clock

Hello all, my mother in law has inherited this beautiful grandfather clock, it is a 5 tube tall case, stamped on back II40, we were hoping to find out the age of it and any history connected to it, we were told it was a winterhalder and hofmeir from Baden Germany in1880's , not sure though, Thank You
