    About 7 inches long as shown. Any clues as to its purpose? Found in my dad's workshop. Probably from the '60s or '70s. Lightweight, stamped metal.

      I used one of those in the 50's to hang a lamp inside my boy scout tent

      It looks like it clamps to a bench or table. The graduated notches might have engaged a bail type wire spring or something?
