Given to me by my grandfather in the 1970s. The writing on the back is very worn, but spelling looks to be Old English. 3" x 3 1/2". Would like to know its origin if anyone has any suggestions. Thank you.

Irish pendant. Possibly from the 60's On the back it should say:
YE 3 WYSE MONKS
doe ye this and
be ye happye
Judging from its size, it's probably a "horse brass". A pendant to be hung from the harness, especially on Shire horses.
Thank you very much for your response. I appreciate your assistance with this. When you say it is from the 60s - do you mean 1860s, as it was very worn down when it was given to me? Do you think it would have any monetary value? Thanks again.
Found this in Russian:

1960's Looks like a replica or psuedo antique.
Thank you very much. That's certainly the one. Really appreciate your assistance with this.
