    This plate is hand painted and not exceedingly well done, maybe for commercial use. It looks as though they might have been trying to duplicate a pattern that was used at the White House !
    I guess it could be listed under "Americana" too. I have several of these plates, and also in the salad plate size. I think they were done around 1970.

      Thanks for your comment, robin 56, yes, could be a commemorative of some kind, I would sure like to find out for sure. I have never seen any other ones like it..plenty with the same or similar hallmark on back , but none with American Subject matter.
