This item was my grandmothers. She always had it hanging in her kitchen. She passed it on to my mother who passed it on to me. (I would say it is about 70 years old). The dimensions are roughly 6 inches wide and 7 inches tall and weighs 1.97 lbs. There are no markings on the glass, but it looks like the top had gold paint. Perhaps there was a cork? The picture gives you an idea on the size using my Comcast remote control as a reference.

Has anyone seen anything like this? What was it used for and any idea on value?

I'm really hoping it's a flask. I like the idea of it hanging in her kitchen for 'emergencies'. : )

      Hello,
I also have one of these but it is green and is sitting on a stand. It has a glass stopper. Did you ever find out any more information?
