    So this odd little pen was in an Indian carved stepped wooden box. Ballpoint with an elephant at the top. The material isn't wood or plastic, perhaps some form of bone? It's a curiosity. Any information greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

      Yep, bone, the clue is the tiny black stripes which are remnants of the blood vessels!
