    Hi,
I'm new to knowing about glass, and I have been researching this one vase for about 4 hours straight (really!).

I put this vase on ebay but I may have been a bit hasty as now I'm second guessing myself. I put it first as Depression, but then I thought the glass was too fine (except at the base). I cannot find one. single. vase. or style even that looks similar to this at all.

I've looked at Deco (to me it looks Art Deco influenced but I am a novice) and antique Georgian and Czech and so much more. I've found out about printy/printie/prismatic cutting.... I've spent so much time with this vase now that I kind of want to keep it. We've bonded. I do think it's a beautiful looking shape.

It's history - it was boxed up in 1981 (I helped) after my Grandmother died. She lived in the mallee scrub area of South Australia near Pinnaroo - for most of her adult life in a tiny one roomed stone house with extra rooms extended on with hessian bags for walls. So in that area, somewhere between 1900 and 1980, she acquired this vase.

It's 20cm high, 4cm diameter at the rim, about 7cm across at the widest point and 6.5 cm across the petal base. It's definitely glass not crystal.

Hopefully someone can give me some idea!! I am now so confused that I am nearly too scared to put in a sub category but I'll go with cut glass... I have exhausted every possiblity I can think of on google, and I have stayed up all night. Will check back later with fingers crossed. Thankyou!

Hi ! I happen to run across this as I was searching for another type of item completely ! You gotta love google. I cant see for sure, it looks to have an applied floral foot. My first guess would be maybe M'Kee & Brothers, flint glass, wheel cut. M'Kee & Brothers made a similar flint glass shape in an ale glass, although the ale glass didn't have the applied foot that your vase does. I believe it to be called Huber Ale glass. I could take a look at a couple books for you, just not sure when... It's a busy time at the moment. I would hold on to it until you can find out more. There are some fantastic glass people on here too, give them time.

I found an auction with a Weston Lily Pad or Water Lily footed glass. Does the foot on your vase have mold seams or is it a single applied piece?

Maybe it could be English Stourbridge very similar cut to these http://www.onlinegalleries.com/art-and-antiques/detail/antique-silver-%26-glass-oil-%26-vinegar-cruet-set-chester-1908/223372

with chester silver tops is it alot heavier than it looks when you pick it up?
