Beautiful suede train-cosmetic case by Bag by Josef. I was in a second hand shop in New York and couldn't resist purchasing this case. It's absolutely adorable. The main compartment is upholstered in gold-satin like fabric with a pocket made out of the same material. With the lid being a burgundy like satin with a mirror attached. The two side pockets, are upholstered in the same burgundy like satin material with interior pockets and snap closures. The handles swivels. I have feverishly searched libraries and the Internet for information regarding this particular bag only to find beaded Bags by Josef and some lucite bags. I just love looking at it every now and then. Please feel free to share any information you may have or perhaps where I might go to find out more about my bag! Thanks.

Try searching Josef of Hollywood. There is a wonderful story on CW about him: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/lost-hollywood-jewelry-trove-uncovered/

Besides his jewelry work for movies he designed clothing and accessories in the 40's and 50's. If it isn't this same company think of all the wonderful items made in NY. When I research an item first I look where I found it. Yes, Americans travel around, but this is how I start my research. Love it! I have a suede bag same era marked Theodor of California but doesn't have the same fold outs.

Thank you @valentino97. I read the article-which got me even more excited as I love old-Hollywood but, my Josef and the Hollywood Joseff are not the same designers. I wish they were as how amazing would it be to have a bad from the retail line of Joseff of California? Wonderful article and definitely a must-read for those of us who love Hollywood films and often wonder about the amazing jewelry and designs of the past!
