    This fan has been in my care since 1974.

    It was a featured prop in a series of fine art photographs in 1980, "their gloves were just for show." The fan has been stored since then and recently I have been researching its origin.

    I have not found another remotely like it. Have researched museum archives, collections, auctions to no avail.

    It is supremely beautiful, reminding me of the era of the painter Gustav Klimt perhaps.

    Would be pleased find an origin for this amazing item.

      RARE FRENCH ART DECO CELLULOID AND OSTRICH FEATHER FAN with what looks to be celluloid handle. Around 1920 or so.

      The celluliod handles came many variations, i see one on ebay with frog on handle. It lack the compact pouch but basically similar.
