    This belonged to my grandmother and is another family treasure that has stayed in my family.It is made by Yardley cosmetics and this compact is sterling silver I believe it is from the 1930s or early 1940s

      Hi BettybOO !!! If this is English, and sterling silver, it would have English sterling hallmarks on each of the pieces.
