Pulled this out of the ground on a old colonial site where round balls were found with a Spanish 4 reale coin that date from 1767-1781 and a few other items. Anyone know if this was a button?

"14"? Looks like some kind of thin coating. Metal ? From what area ? With nothing else to work with, I say button.
