    This is very heavy. Looks like brass or bronze and has spots of patina. Can anyone date this? It's put together by screws. I got it at auction for $3.

    I cut an old door in half and plan to distress and refinish it and use it for the table top. I want to spray paint the base a hammered brown.

    Can anyone identify this piece?

      I would say it is the base from an antique parlor stove. It is made of cast iron.

      Great idea making a table out of it.

      AzTom, you are so right! I just looked it up. Thank you! It will make an interesting table for sure :). I am leaving the door knob and key to make it even more unusual table top.
