My parents got a few sets of furniture identical to this set years ago for free at NAS Jacksonville. It had been in the base's officer quarters or lodging. The dresser is part of the set they got. It is stamped with the "U.S." on the back, and says Owosso Mfg. Co, 1957. The chest of drawers was purchased by me off Craigslist recently for $100. It is also US stamped, but is Drexel, 1958. I can't really find any info on Owosso. My mom currently owns a similar dresser, which is Drexel from the 50's, and a Drexel desk from 1947, both part of the free set from the Navy base. She sold several pieces throughout the years and I'm trying to reclaim anything that matches because it's stunning. The chest of drawers needs some love but I'm trying to find someone locally who can help me with restoration.
