3 section molded. Has rounded top that appears to be etched. Measures 5 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches at largest diameter. Found it at a thrift store. Is this a base to a cake plate? Punch bowl? Were these removable? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
yes, cake stand pedestal; these were originally connected with a glass wafer in the very early days, but in later iterations they were glued. Often the glue deteriorates and the pieces separate. The separate pieces do show up on eBay from time to time. It's pretty simple to reattach with a glass epoxy.
