Midcentury atomic lamp?

I picked up this lamp at an estate sale and thought it would be lovely on our Conant Ball end table. I wish I knew more about it though. There are no markings that I can see but it all looks original. I love the shade and the way the light shines through it (even though my husband really doesn't care for the style).

I call it mid century modern atomic style but I'm not even sure that is an accurate description!
