Ww2 Japanese hat help identify

Hello

I seem to have a ww2 Japanese military hat.
Well that is what my guess is. I have tried looking online and can't find similar examples.

I thought I would try here and tap into the vast knowledge of the members. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.
