Found this 1965 quarter it is sandwiched just like the 73 in the 1962 sandwich coins I have no idea how it's gotten that way I'm just seeing if there's any more information on somebody who might know maybe we have something in common thank you

This is a 1965 quarter that looks sandwich I've seen the 1973 and a 19 95 ore 92 coin in the same way I do not know why it's like this I'm just looking for information or if they're worth anything thank you
Chemical wear. The copper core will react faster than the copper nickel outer layers.

Actually, called a "clad" quarter (don't know why). TubeAmp is correct - the copper center will degrade, leaving the nickel alloy to blend together in a sandwich fashion.
Worth about 80 cents if somebody wants to pay that.
Its not an error it is just acid damage or a coin that spent a while in the ocean. I find these all the time when I go metal detecting on beaches and they look just like yours after I tumble them. Its called a clad quarter because it a sandwich of metals.
