Old and frail southern chair w/wire support

Acquired this old chair with an old cabinet a couple years ago and I absolutely love them. They're full of such american history! The chair had decades of paint splatters of all colors on it. After I spent hours picking most of it off with my thumb nail it turned out ok. I don't know much about it , so any info would be greatly appreciated, as I'm new to this.
