Hi Friends in Show and Tell,
Although I know a little about antiques, I'm just starting to restore. Can anyone tell me what used to be in this chair's space and how I would go about restoring it.
    Thank you!
    Marcelle

It appears it would have had caning , You can learn how to cane or pay someone to do it . Would have helped to see whole chair to be sure .

      Perhaps an embossed leather panel.
