My grandfather was a medic in WWII. We found this "kit" in his attic. He recently passed away, at the ripe age of 103. These are just a few pics of everything that was in the kit. Everything is in German, so we don't know exactly what it all says. There were the tools wrapped in the blood spattered cloth, vials of some liquids that we don't know what they are, tags that appear to be toe tags and several other items. We would like to know if this is worth anything. Please contact us if you can tell us what it's worth.

IT APPEARS THAT YOU HAVE A WWII GERMAN VETERNARIANS MEDICAL KIT FOR ANIMALS THE SUTURES THAT YOU DISPLAY WOULD BE THOSE USED ON HORSES

Jules may be correct, for the leather pouch is not the standard medical pouch as used by WW II German medics. I never saw one like this before.

Wrong info, sorry Jules. Haha, its not a veterinarians medical kit, its a mounted (cavalry) medical kit. (you got the "used on horses" part right - well SORT of!) These were issued in 2 different patterns ("S" and "K") Each contained different equipment. The OP's kit contains surgical tools, I'm not positive if this is S or K. Whichever it is, the other kit didnt contain surgical tools. This kit was mounted or connected to the saddle. The door flips down and you can access the contents without removing it. There should be a small logo above the lock with the letter S inside a horse-shoe. The OP's kit is in wonderful shape and is filled with desirable surgical tools. It would be worth $400-600 dollars easily. Perhaps more on "you know where" if two people really had to have it. A very uncommon kit that appears at a far lesser rate than the standard unmounted medic bag. Nice piece!
