    I was trying to figure out how old this table was and a little history behind it. When I googled it the maker was a lot more vast then I expected. Does anyone have more imput.

      Well this is not a piece made by Karpen. It simply says Karpen Guaranteed Construction. The metal tag is the answer to your question. If the tag read S. Karpen & Bros. it would be an original. This was made by International Furniture Co. they bought out Karpen after Soloman died. This table was made at some point after 1951 when the metal tag and it's wording changed hands and International took over. International was noted for low cost, inexpensive furniture that was mass produced.
