Very Old GUND Scottish Rabbit w/tag~Anyone know how old?

This 16" tall rabbit is rigid as a Nora Wellings creation and has seen a hard life. One eye is missing and the other is only the metal shell, not to mention the moth-eaten costume. The head & upper torso is fur, but the legs are felt. Does anyone recognize the design of the hang tag for dating? It reads from top to bottom (and on both sides) "Made isn USA - Genuine Gund - Quality Toy of Distinction". Can't find any matches in my internet search. At this point, I'm guessing the majority of its value lies in that hang tag, but he is a cute bugger nonetheless. I would like to find out about how old it is and whether it has/had a character name.
