    Sept. 21, 1892 Washington Post. "Left in the lurch again."
    Washington "Senators Once More Find Themselves in Last Position. "
    They won only one World Series championship as the Washington Senators, that for 1924.
    Strange, but when I was growing up in the late 1950s...the Senators were almost always in last place too! They left us in 1960, to become the Minnesota Twins.
    We had no Washington baseball team in the World Series until the Nationals were in the 2019 Series, and they won it!

      Also, did you see that the game was called after the eighth inning,
      because of darkness. No electric stadium lights in 1892!
