Wondering if anyone knows any info on this piece, I've tried googling everything and can't come up with anything in this except an antique place thinks it was made in 1930s 1940s

That date is about right. The number on the back is nothing but a warehouse stamp. To bad someone tried to repair it without knowing what they were doing. Still a nice little item.
