This 19th century patent model was found in a safe deposit box in southern California along with the photos shown, plus various items belonging to a person of some influence.
I acquired it on EBay. Thomas W. Owens of Granville, OH received patents #162,411 Apr 20, 1875 and #232,750 Sept. 28, 1880. The separate components fit together snugly. The patent also shows a gate that could be fitted into the fence.
