Does anyone know what this is? A button? A pin? It's 1.5" in diameter, with no shank on the back, just two small prongs coming out of the middle on the back.
Dug out of area lived in since 1833.
Oh, and any idea of a date?
    Thanks so much.

And what area might that be ?
    2. mekatt1790, 4 years ago
Western New York State about 20 miles south of Rochester. There were 3 Civil War Regiments in the area. Could it possibly be from that era?
      Thank you!
