I am not sure if this is a railroad lamp or not. the only information on it is the patent, which is, "PAT JAN 2 1877" The writing is etched into the glass on the underside, there is no marking on the cast iron itself. I am trying to figure out whatever I can about this piece.
Even if you have little information anything would be of great help to me. I would really like to learn anything about this piece that I can. Thanks in advance for any help.
