We might be able to narrow down further the age (from 1925-1930) if you find the serial number, and add it to your post.
Unlike most vintage Singers, the serial number on a model 101 isn't stamped into a little bronze color cartouche on the bed at the base of the pillar in front.
The serial number apparently is on the underside of the machine on the right hand side.

I did a bit more research. First of all, I found a couple of references to the location of the serial number, but one of them is a Google Docs link that I don't really trust, because of the number of prompts one must answer in order to gain access. It feels like malware.

I came across this topic trying to find info on the 101 I was just gifted. The serial number is underneath the machine on the right hand side. Mine begins with the single letter"C".

If their model 101 truly has a C prefix serial number, then it's a rare animal indeed.
Singer has no records for the C prefix serial numbers, because they all were allotted to the Wittenberge (Prussia, Germany) factory, and the records were lost after WWII.
Of the model 101 machines for which Singer does have records, Mel's assessment of 230,475 jibes with what I see in a concatenated Excel of the extant serial number tables at ISMACS.
Judging from the prefixes, (AA, AB, AC, AD, and G) they all appear to have been made at the Elizabethport factory.
