I stumbled across this old fire helmet and I cannot find anything exactly like it to compare it to. Can you help me with this helmet?

    Thanks so much.

I'm not sure you have a fire helmet. Several countries had a comb on top of their fire helmets. What I am sure you have is an M-26 French military helmet. French helmets had a comb on top during both wars, but there were differences in the manufacturing process between a WW I helmet and a WW II helmet. Because of the construction, this is an M-26 model which was used throughout WW II.

Thanks for your quick response. I had a feeling this wasn't a fire helmet. Thanks for your help.

judging by the liner rivets and the round holes on the front, this helmet was probably used by Spain during the Spanish Civil War era 1936.

The rivets are the type used for a leather band that went around with leather flaps, common on Spanish used M26 shells
