    I just bought this antique trunk in a warehouse from a super nice couple who have been collecting antiques for a long time. Hurricane Ida destroyed their home so they are packing up what they can and moving. I didn’t have a chance to ask for any information bout this trunk. I’ve been researching and came across this awesome page/group. I noticed the lock doesn’t really look like the others and I haven’t noticed a makers mark (not sure where to look). Can anyone tell me anything about it… I’m lost

      This style of trunk was mass produced by the thousands by a hundred different makers without a label or patented hardware it is hard to say exactly who made it.
      This type of lock was more than likely made by Corbin in Conn. It had many different types of configurations or housings , but it's the same basic lock. The trunk fasteners or latches with the lid lifter built into the upper portion appear around 1909 or so.
