Looking for information on this backgammon set. I can't find one like it anywhere. I think the board is ivory scrimshaw decorated? I think the wooden frame is much newer than the board. The pieces may not have originally gone with the board. It's hard to tell. Has anybody ever seen one like this? I'd love to know more about it. bendzel@hotmail.com
Looks like a replica of the 11th century Glostershire Tabula Set discovered on the site of Glostershire castle in 1983.
