The F3 AF was launched in April of 83 amidst rising pressure from other camera manufacturers to create the first professional/commercial AF TTL SLR. When introduced it was the first mass produced fully functional TTL (through the lens) AF SLR. If one can call it mass produced. The F3 was, but the AF feature was in limited numbers at first. Before 83 many worthy attempts had been made through the years with camera producers such as Konica, Pentax, Leitz(Leica), Polaroid, and so on.
This camera is in new condition and fully functional outfitted with the legendary DX-1 AF finder, the MD-4 motor drive battery pack, the MF-6 auto film stop back, and of course the star of the show, the AF 80mm f/2.8 lens. It appears as though(and I may be way off) the AF is faster and more responsive than the N2020 produce in 86 that I have posted in this site as well. It is the most comfortable well balanced camera I own and is not near as heavy or bulky as one would expect.

My old F3HP has a bigger and brighter screen than my D90. But, no AF.
      Nice find!
