UV INVISIBLE INK COLOR & DETECTION

Under normal viewing conditions, invisible security printing is designed to remain unobtrusive. Print-Rite’s current product literature lists UV-detectable invisible ink options that can reveal red or blue fluorescent effects under UV light. Clear and light-green ink options are also listed in the product documentation.

HOW DOES UV INVISIBLE INK WORK?
UV invisible ink is digitally printed onto the target substrate using a compatible industrial inkjet printhead. Under normal viewing conditions, the printed security feature is designed to remain unobtrusive. When the printed area is exposed to the appropriate UV light source, the fluorescent response becomes visible, allowing the hidden code, mark or identification feature to be detected.

This makes invisible ink printing useful for applications where visible graphics and hidden authentication information need to coexist on the same product or packaging.
