I am looking for any info I can find on this set. The box does not say "remote control" as others do, and the engin seems to be older and less detailed then the later ones. Also the Controller is older then the ones I have seen listed. It has 4 cars, and all of the paperwork including packing slip.

      Still looking for info

What are the other cars that came with it. The transformer looks about right. The loco is a 591, very common to many of the lower priced sets. There should be a set number on the end of the box. My guess from what I see so far, mid 50's.

The Box is marked 5622, and the other 2 cars are an open car, and a box car. Everything seems to be in new cond. but no track is in the box.

      Thanks for the info!

That set does show in the Greenberg set book, but it does not list a year. The 591 locomotive was made from 1953 to 1960. That at least narrows it down quite a bit. Not sure how much track should be with it, but my guess is 8 curves and either 2 or 4 straights.

Thank you so much for the info, and yes the packing list shows it came with 8 curves and 2 straight. The only thing I notice is the box, where it is a different color, and nothing showing remote control as the others I have seen.

Marx used a couple of box manufacturers and also on sets that were produced for a few years, some will show up in a completely different box, but carry the same number.
