Antique doll, Tibet? Nepal? Any ideas???

I found this doll wrapped up in a drawer, while cleaning out my grandparents house. None of the family has any idea what the story is with this doll. Anyone have any ideas at all as to what it is, where it came from and what it might be worth?

In the pictures, you can see that it has an old coin tied around its waist.
The charm on the hat is a small buddha. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
