Family wooden rocking chair

My step father just refinished this family heirloom for me. He said it had more than 7 coats of paint. The story I remember my mother telling me is that is was made (or purchased) for her Grandmother who was short and wanted the seat closer to the floor. It is only 16 inches from floor to seat and 24 inches from the seat to top of the seat back. There is faint writing on the bottom of the seat. An initial (capitol H) with a line on either side and underneath all connected with curls making it one continuous line. It also says "Breman, Indiana"---I assume the town it was made since that is close to where these ancestors lived. Any idea of its age or any other information would be appreciated.
