My wife and bought an old house and have constantly been fixing it up. When we cleaned out the attic for insulation, we found this etched plate of a wedding. We could see it was old and, the people in the photogragh were well heeeled.
I sent a copy to various museums in southern Ontario and received a response almost immediatly. The photo is of Hilda McLaughlin’s wedding to John B Pangman in 1926. Samuel McLaughin, was the founder of General Motors. The setting is at their family home called Parkwood Estates in Oshawa, Ontario.
Sorry about the quality of the photo I took, anyone want a better shot can e-mail me at multitasker@live.com

What a cool item...certainly a treasure. Thank god you found it or it may have been forever hidden behind that new insulation! Did you find out if this type of etched plate is typically found in such a large size? My goodness it must be 8inches by 14 inches long.
