My father gave this vase to my mother. I have determined that it's Fenton's "Rose" pattern, with a crested top. I'm curious as to the date it might have been made, as the label on the bottom has a number (the painter?). Can someone help me?

Charleton decorations (and labels) are also found on items made by the Cambridge Glass Company. These items can be dated to the 1940s. The number on the label is more likely the catalog number for that particular decoration. China and glass artists would have their own number when they were paid by the piece. In that case the number was put on the item itself, to keep track of how many items they decorated. They wouldn't put it on a label that could be removed.
