I found this really nice vase or planter in a thrift store in the Appalachian mountains. It's a deep intense yellow, very crazed in the glaze, nice shape (is it a planter or a vase?), and has a mark I don't know on the bottom. It's a kind of fancy "R". I really love it and want to know what to call it and who made it, in case I want to re-gift it to someone. I'd guess 1930s, but I don't know any more than that guess. I love the color! It's the same color as that Crayola color "Chrome Yellow" that they don't make anymore. Retired color.

      Pottery Mark: Roseville 1914-1930
Roseville Pottery is a favorite. A lot of Roseville wasn’t marked but your piece and its mark was used between 1914 and 1930. Ink stamped (can be black, blue or green). A large “R” with a “v” inside.

Fantastic resource! Thank you! I am puzzled that it's not as decorative as many of the pieces they have, but I'll browse through there and see if I can identify the type of vessel it is and possibly what to call the color.

It is Roseville, and the style is called "Rosecraft Colors", from between 1916 and 1920, and it's a bowl. Thanks!
