J H Steward, London, active 1852-1912, optical, surveying and mathematical instrument makers. At 54, Cornhill, EC, 66, Strand & 406, Strand, WC (1852?-1874?); 406, Strand, 457, West Strand, WC & 7, Gracechurch St., EC (1875?-1905). Limited from 1912. They were advertising this "Omni" camera in the British Journal Photographic Almanac of 1894, though it is unclear whether they actually manufactured it or not. Dovetailed (ie with hand cut joints rather than machine made ones), and with leather bellows, the camera was on its way to the tip when I bought it. It carries the label "Prov. Pat. 1893/1581". I have been unable to trace the owner of this Patent number.
