    Does this covered bowl look familiar to anyone? It is frosted and clear and is very heavy for its size I thought my wife would like to use it fo a candy dish. It looks to me to be something special, but I really dont know.

      Just judging by the pictures I wouldn't say this is old. This piece looks similar to some newer Mikasa glass pieces - they produced a lot of different pieces in clear and frosted glass combinations and some of them, like yours, are very pretty.

      Anyone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. :-)
